A cute welcome bear with Bare Country sign (and a bare bum), hand carved by Howard Mahone. This is a lovely piece to go inside or out. As hand made pieces each will vary slightly. Default size 13 inches tall.

Unfortunately ex teacher Howard Mahone passed away in 2011.
He had a hobby that intrigues and delights those that see his work. Howard was based outside Calgary and created "Welcome Bears" using a small chainsaw.
His work required great patience, in that first he took the locally growing tree cut it up and wait for it to dry out. Then he carved the bear in his workshop, using a chainsaw. Once the bear was carved Howard again waited for it to dry further. Finally he applied several layers of paint.
The result is a cheeky welcoming bear that will be happy inside or outside, whatever the weather.
